Glass paintings

Glass painting is a special kind of decorative art. It is interesting as it is and becomes especially expressive in combination with other kinds of fine arts, particularly with architecture. Glass paintings are transparent paintings, drawings, patterns made from glass or on glass. Glass paintings are used for various purposes, they are a rich ornament of buildings and individual rooms. Glass paintings reflect the character and purpose of the construction, complement its artistic image and play a significant role in interior decoration.

The unique characteristics of glass paintings are especially interesting in a residential interior. Glass painting can replace window glass, door panels, certain colored luminaires and ceiling lights, wardrobe doors, screens, interior partitions used instead of walls etc. Modern glass paintings are also designed with account for electrical lighting, which has considerably extended the possibilities of their application in architecture. One can see them now in interior partitions, suspended ceilings, wall panels. Apart from interior decoration a pillar of tinted glass can also be a luminaire due to use of backlighting. New technologies allow modeling fantastic things from glass plates.

Glass can be not just flat, it can be given a curved shape, one can add a filler in the form of air bubbles or thin colored threads or one can "inweave" a thin "golden" wire that will create additional bright flecks when lit. Glass paintings can create a special light, airy environment in your interior, changing and unpredictable iridescence in your home.
